Fred was referred to Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) when he was just five days old. Near-blind, Fred underwent two corneal transplants and now receives ongoing treatment. Last year, Fred and his family took part in our RBC Race for the Kids event.

GOSHCC Professor of Developmental Biology and Genetics, Jane Sowden, is part of a research team who have shown for the first time that transplanting light-sensitive photoreceptors into the eyes of visually impaired mice can restore their vision.
